Africa: Third World to Your World

After 10 years of extreme civil war, responders are finally allowed in the country. Liberia, Africa is a place full of dirt roads, hungry children, and unclean water. A student's perspective can change in a matter of moments. Allow yourself the opportunity to embrace the effects of a life-changing experience. I will be sharing my experience of being a member of a medical mission team that traveled to Liberia, Africa in April 2010. As a nursing student, I was able to gain clinical opporunties and embrace extreme medical situations. Throughout the workshop, I hope to encourage and provide a chance for other college students to become involved with foreign missions and/or service projects.
