What to know before you leave for Fort Worth

Ground transportation
SuperShuttle will be transporting you from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport to the TCU campus. The ride will take 30 minutes if traffic is good. We are still making final arrangements with SuperShuttle regarding pre-payment. You will need to call their ground location from an airport courtesy phone, and you will need a code we will provide next week to verify you one of our guests. Look for that information by e-mail soon.

Pre-conference prep
During the week of June 21, you will receive an e-mail containing a code to take a 20-minute online test called StrengthQuest (https://www.strengthsquest.com/) that assesses your talents and strengths. This is part of a workshop on Tuesday, and we encourage you to take this test prior to Share 2010.

Packing

  • Clothes:
    • For worship and workshops, dress casual, dress for hot weather (upper 90s is the norm), and dress photo-friendly. We'll be taking lots of photos and video during the conference, so keep that in mind.

    • Swimsuit: We've reserved TCU's pool and rec center Thursday night.

    • Clothes for the service project. You'll need closed-toed shoes and long pants, a hat, and sunscreen. While some project might be inside, prepare to work outside in Texas heat. If you have workgloves, bring those too.

  • Linens: You will need your own pillow, sheets, or blankets, towels, and washcloths. Beds are extra long twins, six inches longer than standard twin beds; you might want to bring two flat sheets. Dorm rooms are air-conditioned.

  • Laptops: In an effort to be green, we've asked our resource people to provide handouts that we'll distribute on a CD. Paper copies will be available on request. If you would like a code to access campus wifi, please let me know by noon Monday, June 21.

  • Tradeables: If you have anything you want to trade with other participants - or if you have a good resource for campus ministry that you can give away, bring it along!

  • Your Bible

  • Camera

  • Notebook paper, pens, other stuff

  • Basic toiletries. It's a fair walk to the nearest store at TCU, so bring along everything you'll need.

  • Musical instruments. If you're ready to jam, bring it along.

  • Cash for offerings and vending machines.

  • Props for open-mike night
