Student Ecumenical Partnership

The end is near

Trayce Stewart In the famous tragedy "Romeo and Juliet," Romeo says to his beloved "Parting is such sweet sorrow." As I sit here now I feel the same way. Writing this essay has caused me to take a long look at myself and my college journey. As graduation approaches it is a time of self reflection of the journey that I have been on. But from that reflection a lot of questions arise; mainly, where do I go from here?

My time at Hiram College has been a blessing. I have met great people, challenged myself academically, competed in collegiate sports, and pledged to an honors sorority. But the biggest accomplishment has not come from any of those activities and will rarely be published in any article or biography. By attending Hiram College I have had the opportunity to push myself on my Christian journey. All of the spiritual disciplines and life skills that are needed for the journey called life have been developed during my Hiram tenure.

I have become involved and dedicated to the great denomination we know as the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and become a leader among young adults. I am excited as I look to the future and make preparations for seminary. While there are many possibilities, and even more uncertaintities, I have learned how to take things in stride, and work toward my goals.

I will miss Hiram, but am certain that the lessons learned will be with me in the moments and years to come.
